It was the final year of my engineering graduation when I received an email from a non-governmental organization (NGO). The email was regarding an opportunity to volunteer for computer literacy in a BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) school. I was excited to see this email as I was interested in working for social welfare causes. Little did I know that this email would change my life forever.

The NGO had requested volunteers to teach basic computer skills to the students of the BMC school. I decided to take up this opportunity and visited the school. As soon as I entered the school, I realized that the situation was worse than I had imagined. The building was old and dilapidated, and the classrooms were cramped and dark. I was shocked to learn that the computer lab in the school had been closed for several years due to the lack of educated staff.

I was deeply moved by the plight of the students in the school. They did not have access to basic needs, let alone technology. As I began teaching computer skills to the students, I realized that this was the work that I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I wanted to help people who were less fortunate and make a difference in their lives.

After completing my engineering degree, I started my own design tech startup. Initially, I was excited about my venture and was confident that it would be successful. However, after two years of running my startup, I realized that I was not happy with the work that I was doing. I felt like something was missing, and that I was not fulfilling my purpose in life.

I decided to take a break from my startup and reassess my life. During this period, I realized that I was more interested in nonprofit work and social welfare causes. I wanted to use my skills and knowledge to help people who were in need.

After much contemplation, I decided to pursue an MBA in social entrepreneurship and a course in public policy. These courses provided me with a deep understanding of the nonprofit sector and the skills required to run a successful nonprofit organization.

During my studies, I learned about the tremendous work that could be done for the betterment of society with the help of science and technology. I realized that there was a huge gap between the availability of technology and its accessibility to people who really needed it. This realization further strengthened my resolve to work for nonprofit causes.

After completing my studies, I started working for a nonprofit organization that was focused on providing computer literacy to underprivileged children. It was a challenging but rewarding experience. I felt like I was making a difference in the lives of the children, and that was the most important thing to me.

As time passed, I realized that I wanted to do more for the society. I wanted to use my skills and knowledge to create a positive impact on a larger scale. I decided to start my own nonprofit organization that would focus on providing education and technology to underprivileged communities.

It has been a challenging journey, but it has been incredibly fulfilling. I have learned a lot about the nonprofit sector, and I have been able to make a difference in the lives of many people. I have seen firsthand the impact that technology can have on the lives of people who are less fortunate.

Looking back, I realize that the email that I received from the NGO during my engineering graduation days was a turning point in my life. It led me down a path that I had never imagined for myself. It opened my eyes to the plight of people who are less fortunate, and it gave me a purpose in life. I am grateful for this experience, and I will continue to work for social welfare causes for the rest of my life
